For Nieuwsblad I had to make a picture of this new temporary statue on the Muntplein, Brussels. A giant replica of the Ishango-bone. Proof of humanity starting to understand math, found in the former Belgian Colonie, Congo. The real thing only measures 10 cm. This monster is 7 meters high. PS. While making this camera I was attacked by a guy that didn't want to be on the picture.From about 15 meters I made an overview, and he became that mad, he screamed, almost stole my flash, and demanded to trash that picture (He was reading the sign on it, and was hardly seen). To me it was no problem, if you don't wanna be on my picture I'll trash it. Allthough every photographer has the right to make pics in public spaces and publices them whenever he wants. (Unless the portrayed person gets in trouble because of the publication). So finally the same picture (The one I didn't wipe) ended up in the newspaper. (Not the one you see here however) Happily the police was there in 5 seconds and helped me calm down the guy, and protected my gear (once again) on the streets of Brussels.
